Christmas 2013

Christmas ornaments! The old man head is from 2012, finished in 2013 (still counts for the 2012 ornament, though). The fetus blob is for 2013. My boyfriend, Matt, sculpted them, I painted them. A new tradition, I look forward to having a tree full of these.

To attempt to stay fresh, I've been spending a lot of time doing study sketches. Ive been feeling restricted so this is my first recent attempt to loosen up my style a bit more. Concentrating making more permanent marks, single strokes, using pen and marker. Staying out of Photoshop, I miss working with real media.

Anxious

I tried my hand at recreating this mental image thing I've seen since I was a kid. It didnt scan that well so started experimenting with taking pictures of it, which turned out to be a much better way at representing it, anyway. Its not perfect, but I'm pretty pleased considering I dont do this sort of work very often. I would like to attempt again in the future.
