Christmas 2012

Christmas has been made increasingly more important in my life the past few years. To me it's all about family and togetherness, and living all the way across the country from mine is hard. This year I was lucky enough to have the opportunity to visit my parents in Maryland, though my brothers were not so lucky. I wanted to let them know I was thinking about them, so I watercolored these cards and shipped them their way.

Quackers

Trying to finish a few of the better older projects I had laying around. This one was started about 2 years ago. My old neighbor in Austin had moved and left this behind. It had been sitting outside most of its life, so I decided to paint over its lil' stained body.

Mead WIP 01

My mead that had been fermenting for 7 months was birthed into bottles yesterday. I had been trying to come up with the perfect name for it up until that point, but the name "Hammered" happened soon after the bottling. This is the label I've began to design for it

Muir WIP 01

Something I don't really do often: Speed painting, nature stuff, landscapes, that sort of thing. I'm most strong as a portrait/ character artist, but I'm always looking to expand my boundaries. I took this photo with my phone when I visited Muir Woods (I hate myself for forgetting my real camera) and thought it would be a good place to start practicing a variety of things. Here are some WIP shots, I liked the speedpainting so much I think I might end up finishing this,

sketchbook 02

Since my last post I have moved to Northern California. I didn't take a lot with me, and have managed to forget several things back in Texas, one being my camera charger chord. So please excuse my cell phone picture.

This a small chunk of doodles on what has become my current sketchbook, deskbox. I hope to keep expanding on it and will hopefully have a nice chunk by the end of my visit.

sketches for the new year

I was watching the presidential debates/arguments yesterday, so I doodled up their faces. Also some other quickies I thought were worth sharing.

concepts from a group project a few friends and I started. It didn't get very far, sadly.
