Scat Cats

halloween is by far my favorite holiday, and its been a while since I really drew something 100% in the spirit of it. And I really fell in love with these vintage H.E. Luhrs designs, specifically this really charming band of cats. I decided to do my own style spin on them, I attached the original at the bottom of this post for reference.

Sketchbook 10

Whoops, sorry for the huge dump. I've been procrastinating keeping everything up-to-date. But now that work has settled down, I've been trying to get back into the groove of things.

from top>bottom, left>right:

The nude study is from Luis Ricardo Falero's The Vision of Faust I did the other day, one of my all-time-favorite paintings. I would like to do something nicer in the future.

some mounted heads, for studying different species. I never filled up the page, so this sat in my sketchbook for a while, unfinished.

small sketch pile from the recent months that were too small or unfinished that I never bothered to scan but still kinda like.

Robbie Rotten from Lazy Town surrounded by studies of Vision of Faust for fun and giggles that I did the other day (before the sketch at the very top)

little demon guy who still has no name, was my first ever gouache painting, done in February

a pizza! i did recently. because pizza is delicious.

And, to wrap things up, if you remember this painting :

i finished it and you can see it on my website, here.

Dragon restoration

this old, broken dragon puppet was sent to my boyfriend in the mail from his parents (first two photos are pretty much what i started with). I did a bunch of sculpting on the face, adding an entire lower jaw. also added a fabric tail and painted it, pretty much generally pimped it out, though its now just a static figure. last two are the finished critter!

im pretty sure the original sculpt and puppet are from this dude

Lil Slugger

Heres the progression. The original was a doodle in my moleskine. For the final design I pretty much ditched the entire feel for something more gross and sluglike and less baseball player just because it was more fun. I went overboard with painting practice and decided to finish it up as a simple little card to showcase it.
